OUR VISION
Have you ever met anyone who has made satisfactory returns on their investments with financial products suggested to them by their Japanese financial planners? I have never met a single person like that so far.
The average returns that Japanese financial consumers = investors make on their investments is at the lowest end of the global scale at roughly 1%, and financial planners continue to sell these low-yield products.
I believe there are two reasons for this:
- Consumers lack global-standard financial literacy
- Financial planners lack an inquisitive and diligent mindset
In order to change this dire landscape, we continue to pursue a deep understanding of finance in order to provide our clients with the best choices of investments. We also strive to bring global-standard financial education to all, with the belief that investment knowledge is a valuable asset in itself.
FROM THE DIRECTOR
Finance is not a tool for effortlessly making quick cash. While day-trading is a zero-sum game where there are always losers behind the winners, finance -as the Chinese characters for the word in Japanese mean “money” and “liquidity”- is a natural exchange of interests, where both the lender and the borrower benefit from the act of surplus assets being provided to where those assets are needed.
This fact may be easily forgotten as frameworks and products become increasingly complicated, but this is the indisputable basis of finance.
My mentor once said that investment is half analytical skill, half instinct. My view is that financial investment is like swimming a river – a river derived of the balances of power between nations, which you have to read with your instincts in order to cross.
I wish to share with you as much of the financial insight I have amassed over the years as possible.
